  • Copying and pasting content is probably the most frequent operation a user performs on a computer. Windows allows you to copy and paste text or images quickly with the help of the well-known CTRL-C and CTRL-V keyboard shortcuts but it doesn’t show you the clipboard contents until you paste it somewhere.

    Clipboard Viewer is a straightforward software utility that can capture the data copied to the clipboard and display it within its main window. It comes with support for bitmap, rich text format and plain text, displaying the clipboard data within a small and simple window. The clipboard content is not automatically updated but there is a refresh button there that does the trick.

    One plus of Clipboard Viewer is that it enables you to view the data in various formats. You can choose to have the formats panel revealed at all times but, alternatively, all of them are displayed in the main menu of the application.   With just a click, you can select one of the available formats and Clipboard Viewer will preview it for you. For instance, a text piece can be viewed as a HTML file, a system string or a Unicode text. Unfortunately, the application cannot export the output in other format than text.

    Clipboard Viewer displays the dimensions of bitmaps and allows you to save images in common formats. However, it does not support other picture file types. For example, if you copy a JPEG image to the clipboard, the application describes the clipboard content as empty.
