  • The Guru News Ticker displays the latest news from around the world on your computer. The product is integrated into the Windows desktop, taskbar (system tray), Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla FireFox as well as other popular browsers.

    With a click of the mouse, users can open the selected news article in their web browser. Headlines are displayed via scroll text and drop-down menus. Alternatively they can be displayed through a Live Bookmark (Favorites) window that opens inside the web browser.

    Users can select an unlimited number of news channels from a vast selection of RSS, RDF and ATOM news feeds through an easy to use Add Channel Wizard. Summaries of news articles are shown in tooltips and the entire news article can be seen in a drop down window by simply hovering the mouse over the scrolling headline of interest (see Example).

    The product complies with major Internet standards and can be used to monitor web logs ("Blogs"), search Yahoo-/Google News as well as access Google's GMAIL email accounts. The product is designed to be compatible with Unicode news feeds in foreign character sets (e.g. Japanese or Arabic).

    One of the many unique features of the Guru News Ticker is the ability to display Live bookmarks in the Internet Explorer, Firefox and Maxthon browsers. These "bookmarks" change periodically and give users easy access to the latest news.

    The news ticker color-codes headlines based on news channel specific keywords and uses Windows real-time functions to implement its extremely smooth, flicker-free scroll.
